Funeral and Memorial Celebrant Services on the Isle of Wight

Saying farewell to a loved one is a deeply personal and emotional time. As a professional civil celebrant, I am here to help you honour their life with a ceremony that reflects their unique character, beliefs and the wishes of your family. My approach is compassionate and respectful, offering guidance and support as you navigate this important occasion.

What to Expect

  • Personal Consultation: I will meet with you to learn about your loved one, their story and your hopes for the ceremony. This ensures every aspect is meaningful and tailored to your needs.

  • Order of Service: Together, we can create a ceremony that may include readings, music, tributes, a eulogy and moments of reflection. Religious or non-religious elements can be included according to your preferences.

  • Eulogy and Tributes: I can compose and deliver the eulogy, or support family and friends who wish to share their own words and memories.

  • Committal: The committal, whether at a crematorium, cemetery, woodland burial ground or other chosen location, is handled with sensitivity and care.

  • Closing Words: The ceremony concludes with a final message of remembrance and comfort, offering space for reflection and farewell.

Legal Information

In the United Kingdom, a funeral celebrant can lead the ceremony, but there are some legal requirements to consider. The registration of death must be completed with the local Register Office, and a Certificate for Burial or Cremation (the ‘green form’) will be issued. This legal paperwork is needed before a burial or cremation can take place.

While the ceremony itself can be highly personal and flexible, the burial or cremation must occur at a venue approved for such purposes.

If you have specific wishes, such as a woodland burial or scattering of ashes, I can advise on the options available and guide you through the process.
